The Cincinnati USA Sports Commission is a non-profit organization started in 1989. Since its inception the organization has drawn in thousands of events and millions of dollars in bookings for the city, however little has been done to evolve and enhance the brand to parallel the success of the organization.
We started with an in depth brand exploration session to truly understand this unique non-profit organizational structure and their customer base. In conjunction, we conducted some internal research with their Board of Directors and Board of Governors to uncover deeper insights that led to some really interesting missing opportunities. The end results were impressive, one of the biggest changes out of the research was a name change. We changed the name from the Greater Cincinnati Sports Corporation to the Cincinnati USA Sports Commission to better unify the partnerships between the sports commission and the local visitor bureaus.
In addition, we were able to evolve their identity without losing the essence of their history or heritage. All of this translated into a complete rebranding campaign that ignited a new energy to the Board of Directors, the Board of Governors and to the entire city. We overhauled the website, marketing collateral, environmental graphics and social media outlets. The new and improved Cincinnati USA Sports Commission branding captures their story as being industry experts along with the stories of the athletes and their families that come to visit, compete and play in Cincinnati.
